Ingredients

  • For the Meatballs: 500 g (1 lb) ground chicken, 1 large egg, 50 g (1/2 cup) breadcrumbs, 2 cloves garlic minced, 2 green onions finely chopped, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sriracha (or preferred hot sauce), 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • For the Glaze: 80 ml (1/3 cup) honey, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste), 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 clove garlic minced, 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • Garnish (optional): Sliced green onions, Toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

Step 1:
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2:
In a large bowl combine ground chicken egg breadcrumbs garlic green onions soy sauce sriracha salt and pepper. Mix until just combined do not overwork.
Step 3:
Form mixture into 20 meatballs and place them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 4:
Bake for 15 18 minutes until browned and cooked through.
Step 5:
Meanwhile prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat combine honey soy sauce sriracha rice vinegar sesame oil garlic and ginger. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 4 minutes stirring occasionally until slightly thickened.
Step 6:
Remove meatballs from the oven and immediately toss them in the warm glaze until evenly coated.
Step 7:
Serve hot garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
